Dear Jana,

My name is Dan Barkley and I am a law student at the Seattle University School of Law. I also work as one of the Content Development Editors for the Seattle Journal for Social Justice. We are currently working on an issue devoted to the continuing effects of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Because we are an interdisciplinary journal devoted to the mission of furthering social justice issues, we often print poetry and other creative artwork, and it is in this regard I am contacting you. I saw your incredible Floodwall on your website and hoped that you might 1) be interested in having your work featured, or 2) have any ideas of artists who would like their New Orleans and Katrina-related work to be featured in our journal.

We would need submissions by October 1, and I would be very appreciative of any leads you could send me. Your work is incredible and inspiring. I hope you can help us out.

Thanks for stopping by Turdpolisher. As you can tell by the post, I really enjoyed the exhibit. And that’s unusual for me, sepecially after spending so much time covering Katrina and its aftermath for the news. I usually try to stay as far away from that stuff as possible.

Your exhibit helped me remember the stories of the people behind the tragedy. The ones we in the media focus on for a couple days and then move on. I’ll have you to thank for the reality check on my 1,345,987th Katrina story.

Hi Jana,
I was searching Google for images of drawers for my new art business called Artdrawer.co.uk and came across your amazing photos of the drawers collected after the floods.
I was thinking as I am in the art business and I really think your drawers would make a wonderful art installation, whether you would be interested in a collaboration from us over here in UK?
I think it would be really cool to use your images of the drawers for my website and return offer a percentage of my art sales to your Flood fund to help you guys get going again.
I also think you should definately not give up on making an art installation of these drawers in UK. Despite the Tate turning you down, I am sure I can get some great publicity for you over here in UK and get your installation somewhere it will get media attention and some much needed funding for yourselves.
What do you think of this idea?
Would really like to help as it seems Karma that my business is called Art drawer!
